I am the owner of Great Beginnings Learning Center I have over 26 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, I opened the door of Great Beginnings Learning Center September 2010 and have truly enjoyed every year. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 20 years (2020) and he is so supportive of my dream of making GBLC the best preschool in our area. I have 3 grown children my oldest daughter Caylee Rich is the Director and completely shares the love of preschool education with me, I have a son that lives and works in the area, and a daughter that is currently attending UAB Majoring in Art and Sciences. GBLC continues to grow each year and we are really excited to see all the changes ahead.

I am recently married and we are very excited about our growing family! I have been with Great Beginnings Learning Center since February 2011 and it has definitely been such a joy. I have my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and I am super excited to be continuing my education as I work on my Bachelors Degree. I have a huge passion for helping children learn and grow as well as working with the families of our community. I cannot wait to see what the coming years have in store for us here at Great Beginnings and I am thrilled to be a part of growing program.
Philosophy & Mission
Our mission here at Great Beginnings Learning Center is to nurture the “whole child” in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development. This will be achieved through providing a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate and recognizes the individual needs and differences of children. Using available local and state resources that will enhance the programs available through Great Beginnings to all children regardless of race, color, religion, political party, national origin, sex, age or disability. All teaching will be done using Christian principles, teacher-assisted and directed activities. Children are encouraged to be independent thinkers and life-long learners.
